Set in the Oriental themed kingdoms of Shinsoo, Chunjo and Jinno, the game’s heady mix of magic and combat as players battle against the pervasive dark power of the Metin Stones provides some exciting scenarios, particularly in the early stages.
A straightforward game with a click and slash combat system more akin to arcade battlers, Metin 2 has a large continent to explore and fight across on foot and on horseback. Different awards like skill points and a PvP mode that eventually allows gamers to attack and be attacked by all gamers keeps things challenging and interesting for a while, but there are clear flaws to the game, mostly due to its age.
While the four categories of character class Warrior, Ninja, Shaman and Sura give players just enough to master for the game to remain engaging, the later stages lack unique challenges and overall the kingdoms are rather under populated. The 3D graphics are fine when it comes to the main characters, but the terrain and enemies are rather lacklustre and become repetitive after a while.
